‘Ali bin Fudail related that he heard his father say to Ibn Mubarak, “You order us to seek little from this world, yet we see you trading in merchandise. Please explain how you reconcile one with the other?” He said, “O Abu ‘Ali, i do so only to protect myself (from begging), to be genorous to my family, & to use wealth to help me in obedience to my Lord.” ‘Ali said, “O Ibn Mubarak, if you achieve all of that, then your way of earning & spending are both noble indeed!”

Al-Masih bin Maryam(ra) passed by a gathering of jews who spoke evil words to him to which he responded with kindness. It was said to him, “Why do you reply to their evil with good?” & he answered, “Each person spends from that which he has.”

These days are the days of “reform” and “freedom from old traditions” seems to have become the saying amongst most people. Attempts are being made to approve and accept things that were forbidden in Islam. One such issue is that of the “Hijab”. One hears claims from hear there and everywhere that there is no direct commandment for “Hijab”. Some present inaccurate translations of the Holy verses in this regard. People are quick to un-justify things that they are not comfortable adhering to.

Now this little series of posts has been a massive learning curve for me as I’ve ascertained information that I really needed to know as I my self know a lot Muslims that could well come under any one of the categories on Sunni, Shia and Wahhabi so it’s very important for me to know what I’m talking about. Not only for that reason I have family around me all the time and this subject is always a main point of topic now I’m not questioning my family’s knowledge on the subject it’s just that they never seem to come to an agreement on what or not about what ever other madhabs involve.

I was initially going to write all this information into one section but I thought id break it up a little as there was just too much information to take in at one point it recommended even by the final Prophet to take a break as he used to whilst his speeches so that the listeners would not feel discomfort from taking in too much.
