Anas (ra) related that a man went to the Prophet (saw) & said, “Oh Messenger of Allaah, carry me (i.e, provide me with a mount).” The Prophet(saw) said, “We will have you carried on a female camel (i.e., it is too small)!” The Prophet(saw) said, “Are camels given birth to except by female camels (i.e., meaning that it could be an adult camel * still be the child of a female camel, since all camels are given birth by female camels)?”
Suhaib(ra) related, “I went to the Prophet(saw) & infront of him were bread & dates. He said, ‘Come near & eat.’ I began to eat from the dates, & the Prophet(saw) said, ‘You are eating dates & one of your eyes are sore?’ I said, ‘I am chewing from the other side.’ Allaah’s Messenger(saw) smiled.”
